International Women's Day! Recognizing Me and You!
I’ve been writing a lot. I mean A LOT! Hence one of the reasons for starting this newsletter of sorts.
And I’ve been writing about me. Just about me. Yes my family, friends, and others weave in and out of my stories. But mostly this writing—thousands and thousands of words have been ALL ABOUT ME! Just about me.
My memories, my experiences, my thoughts, my feelings, my beliefs, my journeys, my transitions, my changes, my relationships. Me. Me. Me.
I’ve been spending HOURS every day, most days a week for the last several months- just writing!
And today as I reflected on a floating thought: “gee this is kinda selfish to be spending all.this.time only writing-about-me!” I realized for the FIRST time I didn’t feel anxious about that thought. Wow, what a shift from what used to be a flood of guilt that would come over me when I had “selfish” thoughts! HUGE!
And I wanted to share this in particular today, as it also dawned on me that an awareness of this shift has happened on International Women’s Day! How awesome is that?! This day IS about me, me, me! And—- it’s also about you, you, you!
Even if this current practice of writing is all about me, I do also have a Soul Sense, a God Guidance, a Divine Deliberation of sorts, that what I write about will also be for you. My hope is that by me allowing myself to show up and be me, that that will inherently give you permission to show up as you! In your life, in your family, in your work, in your relationships, in your Self! Your True Self!
May this Women’s Day bring you encouragement and inspiration to celebrate yourself- for MANY days to come! With Love and Courage, Clara Mei
